Based in Ottawa, canada, Tuesday Standard is a blog about consumer insights, digital measurement, online engagement and marketing.

Welcome...

Welcome...

There have been many attempts to start this blog - and many names - over the past few years. Call it a crisis of confidence combined with a busy schedule and perhaps the inability to answer the question - does the world need another blog?

The Tuesday Standard will be a weekly (you guessed it - on Tuesdays) blog focused on areas where I have both an interest, perhaps passion, and definitely an opinion. It will also include interviews of smart people doing interesting things that have a story that should be told. I may not be the smartest in the room, but I have both learned things and had experiences others may find valuable in the work (paid and volunteer) that they do - or dream of doing.

Look for content that is a combination of instructional, advisory, entertaining, and worth considering, in the following topics:

  • Consumer Insights
  • Digital Measurement
  • Marketing
  • Digital Engagement
  • Understanding the Customer - 360 View
  • Start-ups and Entrepreneurship
  • The Great Game of Business

Why do I think I am qualified to write this blog? I guess time will tell if anyone finds the content of value, but check out my LinkedIN Profile to see what I have been up to for the past number of years. Currently, I am the Consumer Insights Manager at the Canadian Real Estate Association where I have implemented, among other things: a Unified Analytics Program, standardized measurement and reporting, a CRM to facilitate the development of a 360 Degree view of the customer (in our case, over 100k members across Canada), marketing automation, an SEO Program, Product usage tracking by members, etc. Prior to that, I built a crowdsourcing and crowdfunding start-up called Ideavibes that was later sold to a larger firm in Berkeley (IdeaScale). During the first year of running Ideavibes, I launched with TELUS, Fundchange - one of Canada's first crowdfunding websites for community projects.

I am open to suggestions so please comment on this posting or email me at paulmd66@gmail.com .

Thank you

Paul
